The Club Of Rome: How Climate Hysteria Is Being Used To Create Global Governance

May 19, 2023

By Brandon Smith

In the early 1970s the US and much of the western world was shifting into a stagflationary economic crisis. Nixon removed the dollar completely from the gold standard in 1971 with the aid of the Federal Reserve (or perhaps under the direction of the Fed) which ultimately escalated inflation pressures. Europe’s post war boom came to an abrupt end, while prices on goods (and oil/gasoline) in the US skyrocketed up until 1981-1982, when the Federal Reserve jacked interest rates up to around 20% and created a deliberate recessionary crash.

Interestingly, the IMF had created the SDR system in 1969 just before the gold standard was cut (the same SDR which the IMF is poised to use as the foundation of a global digital currency mechanism).  And, the World Economic Forum was founded in 1971.

The time period is often depicted in films as a happy-go-lucky era of disco, drugs, hippies and rock n’ roll, but the reality is that the early 1970s was the beginning of the end for the west – it was the moment that our economic foundations were sabotaged and the affluence of the middle class was slowly but surely stolen by inflation.

In the midst of this economic “malaise,” which Jimmy Carter later referred to as a “crisis of confidence,” the United Nations and associated globalist round table groups were hard at work developing a scheme to convince the population to embrace global centralization of power. Their goals were rather direct. They wanted:

A rationale for governmental control of human population numbers.

The power to limit industry.

The power to control energy production and dictate energy sources.

The power to control or limit food production and agriculture.

The ability to micromanage individuals lives in the name of some later defined “greater good.”

A socialized society in which the individual right to property is abandoned.

A one-world economic system which they would manage.

A one-world currency system.

A one-world government managing a handful of separate regions.

One of the most revealing quotes on the agenda comes from Clinton Administration Deputy Secretary of State Strobe Talbot, who stated in Time magazine that:

In the next century, nations as we know it will be obsolete; all states will recognize a single, global authority… National sovereignty wasn’t such a great idea after all.”

To understand how the agenda functions, I offer a quote from globalist Council on Foreign Relations member Richard Gardner in an article in Foreign Affairs Magazine in 1974 titled ‘The Hard Road To World Order’:

In short, the “house of world order” will have to be built from the bottom up rather than from the top down. It will look like a great “booming, buzzing confusion,” to use William James’ famous description of reality, but an end run around national sovereignty, eroding it piece by piece, will accomplish much more than the old-fashioned frontal assault.”

In other words, the globalists knew that incrementalism would be the only way to achieve a one-world power structure that OPENLY governs, rather than hiding the rule of elitists behind clandestine organizations and puppet politicians. They want a global empire in which they become the anointed “Philosopher Kings” described in Plato’s Republic. Their narcissistic egos cannot help but crave the adoration of the masses they secretly hate.

But even with incrementalism, they know eventually the public will figure out the plan and seek to resist as our freedoms are eroded. Establishing an empire is one thing; keeping it is another. How could the globalists come out of their authoritarian closet, eliminate individual freedoms and rule the world without a rebellion that ultimately destroys them?

The only way such a plan would work is if the people, the peasants in this empire, EMBRACE their own slavery. The public would have to be made to view slavery as a matter of solemn duty and survival, not just for themselves but for the entire species. That way, if anyone rebels they would be seen as a monster by the hive. They would be placing the whole collective in danger by defying the power structure.

Thus, the globalists win. Not just for today, they win forever because there would no longer be anyone left to oppose them.

We got a big taste of this brand of psychological warfare during the pandemic scare, in which all of us were told that a virus with a tiny Infection Fatality Rate of 0.23% was enough to erase a majority of our human rights. Luckily, a large enough group of people stood up and fought back against the mandates and passports. That said, there is a much larger “greater good” agenda at play that the globalists plan to exploit, namely the so-called “climate crisis.”

To be clear, there is ZERO evidence of a climate crisis caused by man-made carbon emissions or “greenhouse” gas emissions. There are no weather events that are out of the ordinary in terms of Earth’s historic climate timeline. There is no evidence to support “tipping point” theories on temperatures. And, the Earth’s temps have risen less than 1°C in 100 years. The official temperature record only goes back to the 1880s, and this narrow timeline is what UN and government funded climate scientists use as a reference point for their claims.

I explain why this is fraudulent science in my article ‘The Gas Stove Scare Is A Fraud Created By Climate Change Authoritarians.’ The point is, the UN has been promoting hysteria over a fake doomsday climate scenario, just like the WEF and WHO promoted hysteria and fear over a non-threat like covid. And, it all began back in the early 1970s with a group tied to the UN called The Club of Rome.

The globalists have been scheming to use environmentalism as an excuse for centralization since at least 1972 when the Club Of Rome published a treatise titled ‘The Limits Of Growth’. Funding a limited study of industry and resources in a joint project with MIT, the findings appeared to be scripted well ahead of time – The end of the planet was nigh unless nations and individuals sacrificed their sovereignty. How convenient for the globalists bankrolling the study…

Twenty years later they would publish a book titled ‘The First Global Revolution.’ In that document they specifically discuss using global warming as a vehicle to form supranational governance:

In searching for a common enemy against whom we can unite, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like, would fit the bill. In their totality and their interactions these phenomena do constitute a common threat which must be confronted by everyone together. But in designating these dangers as the enemy, we fall into the trap, which we have already warned readers about, namely mistaking symptoms for causes. All these dangers are caused by human intervention in natural processes, and it is only through changed attitudes and behaviour that they can be overcome. The real enemy then is humanity itself.”

By making humanity’s very existence the great threat, the globalists intended to unify the public around the idea of keeping themselves in check. That is to say, the public would have to sacrifice their freedoms and submit to control in the belief that the human species is too dangerous to be allowed liberty.

The following news special from the Australian Public Broadcasting Service was aired in 1973, not long after the Club Of Rome was founded. It is surprisingly blunt about the purposes of the organization:

What can we derive from this broadcast and its message? The globalists want two specific outcomes most of all – They want the end of national sovereignty and the end of private property through socially incentivised minimalism. The exact same objectives the Club Of Rome outlined in the 1970s are the driving policies of the UN and the World Economic Forum today. The “sharing economy” concept that Klaus Schwab and the WEF often proudly promotes was not thought up by them, it was thought up by the Club Of Rome 50 years ago.

It’s a self fulfilling prophecy: They spend half a century inventing a crisis, drum up public terror, and then offer the very solutions they wanted to enforce decades ago.

In the end, the climate agenda has nothing to do with environmentalism and everything to do with economics. The plan began in the midst of a very real stagflationary crisis, a moment when the middle class populace was most afraid for the future and prices were rising rapidly. This crisis was not caused by the scarcity of resources, it was caused by the mismanagement of the financial system. It’s not a coincidence that the culmination of the global warming scheme is taking place today just as another stagflation disaster is upon us.

The Club of Rome is now a shell of its former glory filled with silly hippies, most likely because the UN and other globalist think-tanks have taken on the role the group used to play. However, the shadow of the original Club is ever present and its strategy of climate fear-mongering is being wielded right now to justify increasing government suppression of energy and agriculture.

If they are not stopped by the public, totalitarian carbon mandates will become the norm. The next generation, living in engineered poverty, will be taught from early childhood that the globalists “saved the world” from a calamity that never really existed. They will be told that the enslavement of humanity is something to be proud of, a gift that keeps the species alive, and anyone who questions that slavery is a selfish villain that wants the destruction of the planet.

Wow! Great insight, told as it really is. I am old enough to relate to everything you wrote. Perhaps your best article yet!

Yes, nice writing and insightful. I’m a fan of Seneca (George Washington’s favorite philosopher. The closest to being a Christian that one can be. However, Godly wisdom is supreme, i.e., Christ’s Father.

We shall have world government whether or not we like it. The only question is whether World government will be achieved by conquest or consent.
James P. Warburg, 1896-1932, Banker & Financier, Chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations, Testimony, U.S. Senate Hearing, February 17, 1950

    • Jonathan May 19, 2023 at 5:41 pm

They’ll claim consent, when it doesn’t actually exist and you’re not allowed to not consent. Like pretty much all governments already do right now.

      Correction: Warburg died in 1969.

      JM,

I see you’ve read Revelation. My opinion is both conquest and consent.

Thanks for yet another great article, Brandon.
That Australia news reel is a blast from the past. Sometimes the scope of time these globalists have been working within boggles my mind. It’s been going on far longer than I have been alive, and I’m approaching 60 years of age (that, too, is a mind-blower!). I’ve been looking into globalism since I first read Antony Sutton’s book, Wall Street And the Bolshevik Revolution in 1989. I then read Wall Street and the Rise of Hitler in 1990 or 1991. At the time, we had George H. W. Bush talking up the New World Order, and this was the humble beginning of my humble fall down the rabbit hole, as it were. Unfortunately, it seems the kids have ‘drunk the globalist Koolaid’.

    • Jonathan May 19, 2023 at 5:25 pm

Yeah, basically every new generation are total suckers for the lies of collectivist totalitarians and the older generation struggles to get them to understand what suckers they’re being.

      • Gabby May 20, 2023 at 6:04 pm

I have great hope for the Gen Z & Alpha A’s to be awake & innovative to alter this deviat strategy. As a mum of two Gen Z teens, we openly discuss these such matters to encourage critical thinking. It’s challenging, as the education system is set up to deter & manipulate these kids sovereignty & consent. However, the more we discuss these issues with facts (which there is undeniable evidence) such as you are presenting, there is an opportunity to alter their big plan.

“… the early 1970s was the beginning of the end for the west – it was the moment that our economic foundations were sabotaged and the affluence of the middle class was slowly but surely stolen by inflation.”
    .
The beginning of the end for United Stated Incorporated came earlier, beginning in the late 1950s and early 1960s with the start of the erasure of all the great American industrial jobs that provided purposeful living and dependable incomes and the life-blood of money for countless towns and cities around America.
    .
Then came the god-awful unpegging of the currency to gold and the resulting wild drunken spending and incomprehensible deficits that US Inc. has incurred since 1971. The wildest and most reckless spending binge in human history… and one that will bring ripples of devastation throughout the World in coming years.
    .
“… the United Nations and associated globalist round table groups were hard at work developing a scheme to convince the population to embrace global centralization of power.”
    .
These misfits all suffer from the same disease: Delusions of godhood. They want to be god, plain and simple. They want all the power, and They want to be worshiped like gods. When They are not even useful human beings.
    .
They always believe that They are the smartest persons in the room… without realizing that They are usually the dumbest. So They have delusions about their intelligence just as They have delusions about being gods among humans.
    .
“The only way such a plan would work is if the people, the peasants in this empire, EMBRACE their own slavery.”
    .
It is a sad indictment of humanity that so much of the human family has so easily and willingly accepted their slavery and submission to The Worst Among Us.
    .
“… the globalists intended to unify the public around the idea of keeping themselves in check… the public would have to sacrifice their freedoms and submit to control..”
    .
That’s always the methodology of The Bully. Get people to believe that The Bully has a right to bully them, and that they-the-bullied deserve to be bullied.
    .
Globalists are just adolescent misfit kids on the playground who never grew up and just love to bully innocent kids all the time.
    .
“They will be told that the enslavement of humanity is something to be proud of, a gift that keeps the species alive, and anyone who questions that slavery is a selfish villain…”
    .
If humanity allows these misfit bullies to get their way and rule the planet like the false gods they want to be… then humanity will have forfeited its right to exist as a useful life form. If we do not value ourselves enough to protect and save ourselves… then what good are we to ourselves or anything else?

That period was actually an economic boom for America, being one of the few nations left untouched by WWII and with the dollar’s gold standard still intact. It was the 70s when de-industrialization really began. Economic trade deals with China started the process of outsourcing labor, pushed by Kissinger. Nixon tried to stop such deals and some believe that is why Watergate happened – to get Nixon out of the way. ALL of this started in the 1970s.

      • Roundball Shaman May 19, 2023 at 4:51 pm

“It was the 70s when de-industrialization really began.”
        .
This was when the offshoring avalanche got momentum and it began to hit the streets where people could see it. But the idea of moving American jobs to cheaper locales was hatched earlier in corporate board rooms. And I pushed it back to the late 1950s because that’s when great Steel towns like Gary, Indiana first began its slide into oblivion.
        .
Someone in my family worked for a world-famous shoe company. In the early 1960s they began to move their large production facilities from big cities to small towns in the Midwest for cheaper labor… and soon after that they went fully offshore. This person would share stories with us about the trends that were being hatched back then in the big office.
        .
But yes, the 1970s was the beginning of a very dark chapter for American industry and jobs. And the clothes and hair styles that people wore then really sucked, too.
        .
And the worst part of all this was how the American worker was disrespected by corporate management and how the once-great Middle Class of America began to be economically attacked. An attack on We the People that has continued right on through to today.

        • AL May 21, 2023 at 8:46 pm

To your point, I have to wonder about the destruction of Japan that ended WWII for the US only to have it rebuilt as a major manufacturing powerhouse that continues today. There are no accidents on the world stage.

          • Roundball Shaman May 22, 2023 at 12:53 pm

What you cited was a key front in beginning the puncturing of the Big Balloon of American 1950s Prosperity to allow for the eventual bankruptcy and deep loss of personal power and financial security for We the People.
            .
The Globalist Elitists will not allow any Nation to have a secure and prospering population for long as that is always threatening to those deluded false gods who believe that They rule the World and we are mere chattel for their amusement and abuse.
            .
‘They’ are not just taking their Wrecking Ball to America but also currently to Western Europe with eyes on doing the same to Russia.
            .
A World of needy, confused, weak people dependent upon a tiny group of False gods who want to own it all. The plan for our Planet by some very sick minds.

      • JohnB May 22, 2023 at 12:50 am

Brandon – wasn’t it the Clintons (along with their supporters in Congress) that demanded China be granted WTO entry & MFN (Most Favored Nation) Trade Status? I remember Ross Oerit campaigning against all that, and of course at the last minute he was “kneecapped” to ensure he would not win…But Perot was correct about quite a bit. His TV presentations / programs (pre-internet) with all the charts on trade & economics were great!

    • Rodster May 21, 2023 at 10:30 am

It always ends with “pitchforks and torches, storming the castle gates” because history has shown us that. They may get away with it for awhile but eventually the Plebs tend to get a tad violent once they realize those in charge have ruined their lives while those in charge are living high on the hog.

Just wait till they find themselves eating bugs and drinking recycled piss water while Klaus Schwab is ordering steaks from Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and drinking Dasani and Perrier water.

Corroboration for Brandon’s excellent, spot-on commentary can be found in the following piece by renowned British physician Dr. Vernon Coleman:
    https://thelightpaper.co.uk/assets/pdf/dr-vernon-coleman-covid-greatest-hoax.pdf
Begin at the Foreword, where he makes reference to the COVID fraud and the Club Of Rome: “…It is vital to remember that behind the whole [COVID] fraud lies the global warming scam. This scam, which first surfaced back in the 19th century, was resurrected in the 1990s and deliberately chosen by the Club Of Rome as a means to an end: the excuse to create a New World Order. The hysterical simpletons who are now scaring themselves silly over global warming don’t realise that the only thing which is man-made about the scare is the scare itself. But in fact the climate change hoax came relatively late onto the scene and was introduced merely to tighten the screw on the global population. The current global crisis, which is rapidly removing all our freedoms, started much earlier and can be traced back for decades. However, the plan really accelerated into action after the Second World War. You don’t have to look too far to find the evidence.”

  • Jonathan May 19, 2023 at 5:24 pm

Yes, exactly. They will claim to have averted a disaster that wasn’t going to happen anyway and claim that it’s all proven by “science” that you can’t see or question.

  • Crispin May 20, 2023 at 2:26 am

Interesting to see featured an Australian Broadcaster of Communism video on a US centric site.

  • Mr. Lee May 20, 2023 at 9:50 am

Club of Rome, Communist International, Round Table, and what ever else these groups morph into. Their story is an old one. The few wanting to rule over the many at the expense of the many. The tyrants always use the, “greater good.”, as the excuse for their malevolence. However, they can not define what the, “greater good.”, is.

Climate Change is the latest iteration of fear that this group is using to impose their agenda. However, time is not on their side as is evidenced by various Western countries enacting tyrannical censorship legislation. This Cabal is not the same caliber of tyrants of the past. They do not possess the internal industry of a Hitler, Lenin, and Mao. They want some other groups to to get their hands dirty, think ANTIFA. They rely too much on technology. For example, CBDC. Consistent IT crashes, hacking and infrastructure deficits will turn CBDC into a disaster. Anyone experienced credit card fraud lately, how about the latest Windows glitch, any power outages in your area. The Cabal relies on science fiction rather than fact and objective truths, another down fall.

At this year’s confab at Davos, Dr. Schwab made a statement. To paraphrase, he wants a little chaos to be able to engineer is plans, but not too much chaos where he loses control. This Cabal offers two dimensional solutions to three dimensional problems and that is why they fail. They use the useful idiots on the left to be the vanguard to implement the change they want yet dividing society in their use of these groups. Think the Trans groups and drag queen story time.

To defeat their agenda is not that difficult and will require a small percentage of the population to not comply or go with the narrative. This appears to already be happening. Political opposition to their agenda, using cash and tangible assets, cancelling big tech memberships, not consuming mainstream media, arming oneself, just to name a few items.

The Cabal is not infallible, and it knows it. The question remains, will they drive us to nuclear armageddon once they realize their hopes are dashed.

That moment always comes. It’s inevitable. The only question is how much pain will people need to experience before the switch is finally flipped.

      • Rodster May 21, 2023 at 10:24 am

Probably a lot. My favorite quote is from the founder of the Trends Journal, Gerald Celente. He says: “When people lose everything and have nothing else to lose, THEY LOSE IT”.

TPTB have conditioned the Plebs to accept pleasure rather than pain, while they go about destroying the lives of the average American. The three things that Joe and Joan Sixpack prioritize are 1) food, 2) sex, 3) entertainment. That is what TPTB have used to distract the masses. Once, people realize they can’t feed themselves or their families, they tend to get hostile, such as what started the Arab Spring when a citizen lit himself on fire because he couldn’t feed his family.

It will take some time for the boiling point to arrive but it will happen.

  • Shay May 20, 2023 at 7:07 pm

Brandon, could you comment on the potential dangers of HAARP and the chemtrails that they’re spraying globally and daily literally everywhere? I wouldn’t be surprised if they are also using that to modify the weather to their liking to make their climate change BS argument look more credible. I see those planes spraying their white vapor literally EVERYDAY it drives me insane.

    • Rodster May 21, 2023 at 10:33 am

5G phones are also a potential health problem.

      • AL May 24, 2023 at 8:42 am

The only health effect 5G has on the people is the addiction to the massive amounts of data it can move. I saw some of those long videos that claimed that 5G frequency was a health hazard but I believe it’s a straw man argument to hide the real hazard. The “internet of things” is the ankle bracelet. It’s a personal prison cell that we choose to have and like it. Smart home, smart electric cars, bikes, etc.. for many people life is lived through a handheld device (with the ability of an agency to monitor every move). Order food, pay for services, banking, take pictures and so on. A modern prison cell has no walls.

    • Gauntlet33 May 22, 2023 at 1:03 pm

Shay, I would also love to see coverage on this issue as I’d heard about “cloud seeding” as a kid, and it’s more recent that I see it’s a simple matter of them creating the clouds with steam from their factories and then spraying these same steam clouds with reactive particles to make it rain in a given area (i.e., the cities — with 2 objectives in mind…(1) poisoning the masses, and (2) keeping the rain from falling where it’s needed on farmland).

      • AL May 24, 2023 at 1:34 pm

If I may jump in….Cloud seeding has been around for about 100 years. It’s not new and PG&E was on record for using the technology to keep the hydroelectric power plants running. Seed the clouds above the lakes and you stay in business. I also heard of farmers taking advantage of seeding. That said, it would not surprise me one bit if the wild weather swings are a direct result of cloud seeding. Consider that all seeding does is move the same amount of water vapor around; so naturally some areas will be drier and some very wet. Perhaps our record rains in CA are a result of seeding.

        • Gauntlet33 May 24, 2023 at 1:42 pm

AL, I agree. I’m also in CA, specifically SoCal, and my family and certain friends believe that the weather here has been manipulated…Big Bear’s 9+ feet of snow just a few months ago being a perfect example.

          • AL May 24, 2023 at 10:35 pm

Yep, if you are a native, this is not normal. I’m a Nor Cal native. And yes, I remember the heat and rain in the 70s and 80s. But not the fires or floods that went with it. Now that epic amount of snow will melt and flood much of the areas outside the megaregions (where we are not supposed to live). Just like the fires were outside the megaregions or in redevelopment zones.

I’m not buying the guilt trip man made climate change but I can buy the purposely manufactured climate change. And speaking of emissions, the worst air quality I ever saw was during the fires. After the fires were put out the air cleared up fairly quickly and everyone forgot about it. And shortly after a disaster like we never seen, it was back to not using your BBQ or fireplace on certain days, which will never turn the sky orange as it had during the fires.

Lived in North CA for 7 years in the 80s and 90s – One of the worst droughts they ever had even by today’s standards. The climate hasn’t really changed, just people’s perception of it. In fact, in many cases weather conditions have improved over the past century, just look at the 1920s-1930s. People don’t have the power to influence the weather for the long term. Possibly in short events and in small areas, but the Earth’s systems are vast and we are like bugs in comparison.

he entire Climate Scam has been their planned program for world domination. Centralized government is counter to evolution & like spitting into the wind. One government ends up under one dictatorship & when they make a mistake everyone suffers & there is no one left to save them. All their eggs have been put into the dictators basket.
Also, all people are not intended to be alike & one type of government does not fit all. One government forces those who are stressed & mishandled to fight for their rights & existence. There is no peaceful way for them to live oppressed by the dictator who is forcing them into one mold that is convenient for HIM. He must use force & informers that become a monstrous Police State.

@Johnny Morris, I agree with you.
Things started to get worse with Nixon and the following Administrations. One of the worst? Obama-Biden administration.

Do you remember “The Green New Deal” and the leftist diva Ocasio-Cortez?..

Again, about “global warming”, have a look to this speech by Rick Perry (12 years ago):

Clearly, “the climate emergency” (another name for this scam) is one of the main psyops of the last 50 years to set up the NWO. We can add 9/11 and CV-19.
Concerning CV-19 hoax – a huge crime against Humanity – and the role played specifically by a large part of the hospital staff:

      We will NEVER forget.

RE: Global Governance, is this further proof that they are intentionally trying to portray the US as a banana republic? https://www.zerohedge.com/political/former-deputy-natl-security-adviser-fbi-cia-doj-will-rig-2024-election

The star sentence of this article is this: “Establishing an empire is one thing; maintaining it is another.”

I believe that the structure that is being built can collapse at any time.

@Brandon, what do you make of the sentencing of Stewart Rhodes? Is that cover to put his followers and the community back to sleep? Think he’ll get off on some lighter sentence a year from now?

I suspect he will be pardoned after the next election. I don’t think Biden is going to remain for another term given his crashing approval ratings. It probably won’t matter though, because almost no one in the movement trusts or likes Rhodes – Not a single person even went to speak for him as a character witness at his trial, and apparently he trash-talked all the other J6 defendants during his proceedings. I hope the January 6th prisoners are released. The conspiracy charges used against them are nonsense, including for Rhodes. That said, there were far too many weird occurrences around him to be ignored; anyone who has met him senses that there is something very wrong.

Hi Brandon, You wrote “If the public doesn’t stop them,. . .” Do you believe, as I do, that there is a great paradox in stopping the dangerous Great Reset and at the same time weakening the West in the face of the BRICS and its Multilateral World Order?
